I will
be paying attention to circulation, lymphatic drainage, skin,
facial, muscle tone, pain patterns, and all soft tissue.
Using my palpation skills, I work with body parts in order to
make them function better. Using the nursing process to
discuss medications and pain management. Some of
the differences you may notice, I frequently spend a lot of
time on the compromised area and may not do a full body
massage. While massage is relaxing, my emphasis is on
treatment. The goal is to have a plan, improve function,
relieve pain, and lighten your body's demands.
Nursing/massage is powerful and affects the whole person,
physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.
I use my
medical knowledge of body processes, in both diseased and
healthy people to treat injuries. I will be adjusting my
treatment to any disease or injury you may have, for example,
headaches, fibromyalgia, back pain, herniated disc, arthritis,
and motor vehicle accidents. First, all patients will be
evaluated by an RN/LMT with a medical history and a physical
assessment. Range of motion, structure analysis, sites of
pain, and review of systems. Then using the Nursing
Process of plan of treatment is developed and communicated.
Treatment is usually one to two times a week for 8-10 weeks,
then we will reassess your progress.
Your body is your friend
and can give you important information. I will help you
to learn to be body aware and how to relieve pain and tension
for yourself. |
